Very Technical
It took me many years to understand what I wanted and enjoyed doing. I was brought up in a very conservative community where only qualified academic professionals were respected. I was told that to be successful meant having a degree and practicing in that academic field such as an engineer or lawyer. I therefor went to university and studied a Bsc Degree.
My first formal job was software development in Pietersburg(Polokwane). It was during this time that I published my first website, almost 15 years ago. Over the years, I gradually migrated from technical jobs to customers centric jobs.
Hey, I like this selling thing...
It was during my time at Eliance (a division of McCarthy Online), that I was taught, or encouraged to appreciate the salesman in me. I discovered how thrilling and absolutely fulfilling sales was. An entire new world with fewer boundaries and limitations opened for me. We did some wacky deals at Eliance and every pitch was a work of art.
Since then, I have practiced, studied and researched sales and marketing. I consider myself to be a very good marketer. More importantly, I am proud of being a "salesman"
